Reevaluating Self

I was fascinated with the very public settings in which photo booths are often found. I was especially interested in how a thin opaque curtain could separate and seclude oneself into a private and intimate space. I liked how the photobooth captures live action and thought it was the perfect place to document Reevaluating Self, a performance in which I try to fit back into my first communion dress. I wanted to see if I could reposition my twenty-something self back into the “Good Catholic Girl” ideals this dress once symbolized.
